“You always see Amanda’s hair wavy, so for a change, I wanted to try it superstraight and shiny,” said Diego Da Silva, the hairstylist on the shoot. He spritzed shine serum on her dry hair, then flatironed it all. A dab of styling wax worked into the ends “kept them from looking frizzy and messy in the crazy weather,” Da Silva said.

Diego Da Silva began his career as a freelance session stylist in Paris France, assisting and training with celebrated hairstylist Odile Gilbert for several years. He helped create looks on famous runways across Europe and began shooting for publications like Italian Vogue and Paris Vogue. Over the past few years, he has grown his international reputation as an innovator in the world of high fashion beauty. Presently he livs in NYC and is shooting for high profile magazines like Allure, Numero, Japan Vogue, China Vogue, French Vogue and the New York Times. Diego has done runway shows for La perla, Cheap & Chic, Moshino, Zegna, Bill Blass, Costello and Nina Ricci. He is a favorite of celebrities including Demi Moore, Kate Blanchette and Juliette Binoche and continues to expand his resume with photographers including Tom Munro, Cedric Buchet, Sebastian Kim, Norman J Roy, Paola Kudaki, Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Greg Kadel and Jean Baptiste Mondino.
